Identity before the label
Genesis 1:26–27; Ephesians 2:8–10
Read Genesis 1:26–27 in the creation account. Human dignity begins with God’s creative purpose, before an occupation, a public reputation or a clothing label.
This conviction shapes how 426 speaks about identity. A product can express a message, but it cannot create the worth of the person wearing it. The same dignity should shape how we treat someone whose circumstances, appearance or abilities differ from ours.
Read Ephesians 2:8–10 with the surrounding passage. Grace, salvation and good works belong in their proper order. We do not purchase belonging or earn reconciliation through an outward image.
Reflect: Which labels have I allowed to define my worth? How does this passage challenge that assumption? What would change in the way I treat another person if I remembered whose image they bear?
